HOW FORWARD IS GOOD LUCK JONATHAN?

HOW FORWARD IS GOOD LUCK JONATHAN?
The Nigerian President, Good luck Jonathan whose 2015 presidential campaign is anchored on the forward slogan started by blaming all Nigerians Leaders but himself for the country’s woes.
President Jonathan, who from all indications has run out of ideas, is now preoccupied in teaching Nigerians history by focusing on especially some issues of the Buhari regime of 1983-85.
The man who, promised forward is not telling us what the new ideas he is bringing on board to ensure a better and a secure future for this country.
We were thinking Jonathan will tell Nigerians his forward strategy on security, Power, education, agriculture and so on and so forth. Rather, he chooses to read IBB Coup Speech of 1985.
In Enugu Campaign, while Nigerians particularly the Igbos wanted to know what happened to the construction of the second Niger Bridge, which he promised them in 2011, he appeared not interested in that part of history but instead took them backward to 1984 to tell them that Buhari jailed Former Vice President Alex Ekweme for 301 years.
While kidnappers, armed robbers, and looters are operating left, right and Center under his watch, he told Nigerians he will not send them to prisons like what Buhari did in 1984-85 because according to him, Nigerians don’t want their Uncles to be put in prisons.
Unless your income is tied to Jonathan’s incompetence, it is crystal clear he is not talking about anything forward in his campaign so far.
To this end, let me quickly take him to some of the recent past history from May 2010 to date to see if his condemnation of the un-elected Buhari’s government of 1983-85 can be justified.
When the Boko Haram Insurgents abducted more than two hundred Chibok school girls, the Jonathan who is moving Nigeria forward has to wait for almost three weeks to say something on it.
And when he said something, the first thing he did, was to set up a committee headed by General Sabo to investigate whether the Chibok girls were actually abducted.
The in sensitiveness to the Chibok girls issue was also taken to the highest level when his wife Dame introduces what I called the “chai! Grammar” to the issue where among other embarrassments, she asked “what of the two teachers that can tell us they conducted that Exam”?
In normal tradition the world over, People visit the bereaved to sympathize with them but in President Jonathan’s case, the opposite was the reality because it was the parents whose children were abducted that visited him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
While the Buhari, he is condemning for not equipping the military during his 1980s regime visited battle front when Maitatsine crises broke out in Jimeta and ensured that the crises became history within a short period.
The last time I checked, Jonathan is yet to visit any battle front on the ongoing war against Insurgents in the North- East.
Under Jonathan, Military officers bitterly complained of poor motivation and inadequate equipment thereby forcing some of them to do what they called “tactical maneuver” to Neighboring Cameroon and Niger.
Considering the fact that no any “tactical maneuver” was reported when the Nigerian Military fought the Civil War in the sixties and the Maitatsine crises in the eighties, it is clear, beyond all reasonable doubts, blaming the past leaders for not equipping the Military cannot hold water.
May Almighty Allah save Nigeria and Nigerians from those who preached forward and keep graveyard silence for days while more than two thousand people were massacred in Baga, Borno State by the Insurgents. By Ya'u siuto Gembu

Obama in India: US, India agree to a "new vision" for Asia Pacific

the economic times report
NEW DELHI: Seeking to enhance their strategic cooperation, India and the US today agreed to a "new vision" for Asia Pacific by deciding to advance their shared security concerns in the region.

To support regional economic integration, the two countries decided to promote accelerated infrastructure connectivity and economic development, including by enhancing energy transmission and encouraging free trade and greater people-to-people linkages.

As part of the understanding, the two sides will "oppose" terrorism, piracy and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction within or from the region.

"We have also agreed to a new vision for Asia Pacific so that we are doing more together to advance our shared security and prosperity in this critical region," US President Barack Obama said in his media statement during joint press interaction here.

The White House later said in a statement that to support regional economic integration, India and the US will promote accelerated infrastructure connectivity and economic development in a manner that links South, Southeast and Central Asia, including by enhancing energy transmission and encouraging free trade and greater people-to-people linkages.

"Regional prosperity depends on security. We affirm the importance of safeguarding maritime security and ensuring freedom of navigation and over flight throughout the region, especially in the South China Sea.

"We call on all parties to avoid the threat or use of force and pursue resolution of territorial and maritime disputes through all peaceful means, in accordance with universally recognised principles of international law, including the United NationsConvention on the Law of the Sea," the statement said.

It said the two countries will "oppose terrorism, piracy, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction within or from the region."
