Of change across our great country.

"They Said we should change we can Only move From Bad to better, not from better to bad"

Nigerian first Lady was on Tuesday mistakenly critisized her husband and endorsed his main challenger general Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential poll, she said that voting Buhari is moving from bad to better not from better to bad, she made the statement  during a rally organized by the
women wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in
Akure, Ondo State. she said “If you vote Buhari, you vote for prison. When the
PDP is busy building schools, they are busy thinking of
building jails. We will not allow our children to be put in jail,
God forbid. We pray for oneness, we pray for unity, we pray
for peace.”
“He was a former Head of State, he did not build Almajiri
schools. It was Goodluck Jonathan that built the schools. Ask
him what he did for women when he was Head of State. It
was Goodluck Jonathan that remembered women.”
“They said we should change, we can only move from bad to
better, not from better to bad. Jonathan has done well and
will do even better if returned. They have nothing to show,”
she added. However, it should be noted that Dame Patience
Jonathan has recently been involved in series of
controversies over her scandalous quotes directed at the
opposition. She was criticised over trying to incite violence in
the country ahead of the general elections, to which the
president’s wife responded that she is “a woman of peace”
who hates violence.

Punch: Buhari planning to send me to prison –Patience

The wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, says the All
Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen.
Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) will send her to jail if he is
elected.
In a manner typical of a prayer session, Patience, at the
Peoples Democratic Party rally in Ibadan, Oyo State, on
Wednesday, invoked the ‘Holy ghost fire’ to consume PDP’s
opponents.
Patience also called on the crowd to vote for the PDP at the
polls.
Patience, who had earlier entertained the crowd of
supporters by dancing to household music tracks such as
‘Kukere’ and ‘Personally,’ said the Goodluck Jonathan-led
government was a lover of women and youths in the country
and should, therefore, be encouraged to continue.
She said, “I want to warn you not to listen to the All
Progressives Congress. The APC does not have materials to
match what the PDP has on (the) ground. Their candidate
was there in governance initially. What did he do? They only
sent your fathers to prison.
“They are planning to even send me to prison. Holy Ghost
fire! Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire! They have nothing to
offer. They only say ‘I will’, ‘I will’.
“A train is moving and it has now got to Oyo State. When we
talk about train, some of you may have not seen a train
before now. The last time a train moved in this country was
when I was small and in primary school.
“When my children were small, they asked me what a train
was. I had to take them to London and we entered a train
from London to Paris. But the PDP government has brought
this back to Nigeria. If you want to see train working today,
you don’t need to travel again.”
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jumoke
Akinjide, who spoke earlier, said Jonathan deserved to be
re-elected because he gave women 35 per cent
representation in his cabinet.
She said, “I enjoin the women and youths of Oyo State to
vote for our party on Saturday. I have seen a campaign
advert by the APC in the newspapers saying ‘God give us
men’. But our prayer in the PDP is different. We pray that
God gives us men and women.
“Jonathan is the first President in Nigeria to give women 35
per cent. Going by the National Conference report, the
President has said that if women have 35 per cent, youths
will also have 30 per cent.
“I was looking at the list of the universities set up by this
administration, and I saw that one of them was set up even
in the hometown of his opponent – Gen. Buhari. I think that
if Buhari could not set up a university in his own state,
Jonathan has done it and, therefore, deserves to continue.”
Other dignitaries at the event were the PDP governorship
candidate in the state, Senator Teslim Folarin, his wife,
Angela; wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Kemi Mimiko, and
the party’s senatorial candidates in Oyo State.

News headline:They are busy abusing me and my husband! I will not answer them- first lady

First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan yesterday while
campaigning at the PDP Women Rally in Rivers State said
she’ll not join issues with the opposition party in Rivers State
who she described as rascals.
Dame Jonathan said they’ve been abusing her and her
husband over the attach at the APC rally in Okrika on
February 17th 2015 and she doesn’t plan to answer them.
“They are rascals and I will not respond to them. Don’t let
me open my mouth to talk about these rascals. The Rivers
monorail will not be completed until hundred (years).
It will remain like that until my great grandchildren are
born. We did not vote for these people. We in Rivers State
voted Celestine Omehia, but these people came and took
our mandate away and today they are abusing us.
They don’t have respect for elders. They are busy abusing
me and my husband. I will not answer them. In Rivers
State, we respect elders but these rascals have no respect
for their elders. We must vote them out in April.”

Saharareporters: Federal Judge In Abuja "Dismisses' Disqualification Case Against Buhari

A lawsuit filed by Chukwudiake Okafor and Donald
Daunamigba seeking the disqualification of Muhammad
Buhari the presidential candidate of the All Progressive
Congress (APC) has been adjourned till April 22 and 23rd
2015 for further hearing. The decision if the judge is seen as
a move to put an end to the case since it is technically
adjourned till after the Presidential Election scheduled for
March 28.
The case which was adjourned for hearing for today had
generated apprehension around the country but at today’s
resumed hearing, Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal
High Court in Abuja dismissed applications brought by two
persons seeking to join the lawsuit, after rejecting their
applications the judge stated that he will listen to counsel to
the plaintiffs to determine the legitimacy of the lawsuit. He
also sated that related cases concerning election matters
before his court will be adjourned until April
The eligibility lawsuit is one of the myriads of cases
instituted by loyalists of President Goodluck Jonathan to
disqualify his opponent, Muhammadu Buhari, in the
presidential election. There are still at least eight lawsuits
pending against Buhari and the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) all of them aimed at scuttling
the Nigerian general elections.

Kwankwaso and Atiku are the real enemies of Buhari- Sule Lamido

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, has faulted the recent
claim by the media committee of Buhari’s campaign
directorate that President Goodluck Jonathan has directed
him to campaign against Buhari, saying that the claim was
mischievous and misleading.
He also warned General Muhammadu Buhari to consider
former Vice president Atiku Abubakar and Kano State
governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his real enemies.
Governor Lamido, yesterday, during the rally of Malam
Aminu Ringim, the state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP
governorship candidate, at Garki Local Government Area of
the state, said he was too big to be used to campaign against
Buhari because when it comes to political game, “I am not

Abusidiqu:Jonathan Spends N1Trn On Election Campaign,APC Alleges

All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign
Organization, APCPCO, Monday, accused President Goodluck
Jonathan of shifting N1 trillion from the public coffers to
fund his campaigns of buying over traditional rulers and
some major interest groups.
The APCPCO also said part of the money was also being
used in funding what it described as the hate campaign
launched against the presidential candidate of All
Progressives Congress, APC, General Mohammadu Buhari.
The accusation was immediately rebuffed by the Jonathan
campaign yesterday which accused the Buhari campaign of
being gripped with fear of losing the election.
The APCPCO regretted that President Jonathan who should
ensure accelerated development of the country with its
resources had gone on a wild goose chase, disparaging
Buhari and squandering the resources of the nation in a bid
to win the election.
Director, Media and Publicity of the Buhari campaign,
Mallam Garba Shehu while asking Nigerians to think twice
before voting this Saturday, said that Jonathan should have
resorted to showcasing his legacies in office instead of
sharing money.
“We will like to bring to your attention and that of Nigerians
how the President Goodluck Jonathan led Peoples
Democratic Party government is wasting one trillion Naira
that belong to Nigerian people in his self-serving and
desperate bid for a re-election at all cost in the midst of
grinding poverty his party and government has subjected
Nigerians to in the last 16 years.
“It is unconscionable and height of betrayal of public trust
that a government and a President who should preside over
the husbandry and judicious use of our national patrimony
is superintending over its massive squander in a futile
attempt to stop the idea of change. Let us sound a note of
warning at this point that no amount of sponsored negative
media propaganda can stop this idea whose time has come.
“The APC Presidential Campaign and the acceptability of our
candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice
Presidential Candidate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has
become a peoples’ movement and Nigerian masses who are
the drivers of change are the major stakeholders.
“A panoramic view of how much Nigeria’s resources
Jonathan and PDP have laboriously and wantonly spent on
print, broadcast and social media campaigns just to damage
the unassailable credential of Gen Buhari’s integrity will
confound any casual observer of the polity in recent times.
“An average cost of a wrap around in Tier 1 and Tier 2
newspapers in Nigeria is between N15 million to N20 million
and the Jonathan campaign buys average of 5 wrap around
and front pages in a day in the last 3 months coupled with
the hundreds of billions that have been spent on negative TV
exposures on AIT, NTA and other television and radio
stations across the country.
“We had expected that a President that has spent about 6
years in office with the revenues more than what all
governments before him had received will run on a record
of performance rather than peddling lies and hate media
campaigns that are accentuating ethnic and religious
tensions in the country.”
Shehu also stated that Jonathan had spent handsomely on
traditional rulers in the south west, revealing that the
presidential financial train had now moved to the north.
According to him, the monies expended on PDP campaigns
could provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in
the country.
“President Jonathan has been criss-crossing Nigeria giving
an average of N50 million each to traditional rulers, most
especially in the South West and the Northern parts of
Nigeria. This week, the President’s campaign money is being
shipped to the North.
“You will recall that a Pastor recently confirmed that N7
billion was given to Pastors to spread unfounded allegations
of Islamaphobia and scare mongering against Gen Buhari
and other APC leaders.
“A fraction of the trillion naira hate campaign expenditure
will fund the APC programme of feeding primary school
pupils in Nigeria on one nutritional meal a day, comfortably
pay N5000 monthly to 25 million very poor Nigerians for a
year and pay unemployment benefit for one year for
graduates who can’t find gainful employment one year after
NYSC which are core to the social welfare programmes of
the APC Federal government Gen Buhari will lead.
Reacting to the allegations last night the PDP Presidential
Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO spent over one trillion
naira of Nigeria’s tax payers’ money on media and to bribe
traditional rulers especially in the South West, Director,
Media and Publicity, PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode
described the APC of being gripped by the fear of losing
Saturday’s general election.
Fani-Kayode who noted that very little of what APC says
worries the party, said that the allegation was evident that
the party has lost touch with reality.
He said, “They are afraid of losing. The president of this
country does not give bribe; we do not believe that
traditional rulers in this country, especially those in South
West are bribe takers.
“They also said money was given to pastors. That is a lie. No
pastor of the living God, no pastor worth his salt is a bribe
taker.”

Afikpo Chic Blog:Court Remands Two For Attacking Aisha Buhari's Convoy

Two men who attacked the convoy of Hajia Aisha Buhari, wife of the
presidential candidate of the APC, during her recent visit to Kwara state
have been ordered to be remanded in prison custody.
Sulaiman Lawal, 27, and Lukuman Isiaka, 20, were arraigned before a
Nigerian Magistrate’s court on a five-count charge of criminal conspiracy,
mischief, belonging to a gang of thieves, extortion, assault and
disturbance of public peace contrary to sections 97, 327, 306, 292 and 113
of the penal code law.
According to the Police First Information Report, FIR, dated March 18,
the suspects attempted to extort money from Aishat Buhari, who was
accompanied by the APC Vice-Presidential candidate’s wife, Mrs. Dolapo
Osinbajo, and Kwara first lady, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, while they were
on their way from a courtesy call on the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim
Sulu-Gambari.

The report added that the suspects and others at large, “criminally
conspired in an attempt to extort money from them and in the process they
smashed the side mirror of a car in the convoy and for a while caused
pandemonium in the area.
“Investigation at ‘C’ division police later revealed that the two of you are
group of social miscreants who use to extort money from passers-by at
Ile-film junction, Ilorin.”

It was gathered the police prosecutor, Godwin Azua, opposed to the bail of
the accused because of the rampant nature of the charges preferred against
them, arguing that if admitted to bail, they would tamper with the on-
going investigation of the police.
Defense Counsel, Taofik Olateju, however, urged the court to grant
accused bail, arguing that they were presumed innocent until proved
otherwise by a competent court.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Jubril Salihu, in his ruling, ordered that the
accused be remanded at Oke-Kura prison custody, Ilorin, while adjourning
the matter till 2 April for mention.
It is worth mentioning that during her visit to Governor Abdulfatah
Ahmed, Aisha Buhari stressed the importance of educating the APC
supporters regarding the party symbol, the broom.
Only five days ago, a former deputy speaker of the Akwa Ibom state
House of Assembly, Okon Uwah, was killed by yet to be identified
assailants at Nkek village in Ukanafun local government area of the state.
Okon Uwah, a staunch member of the opposition All Progressives
Congress (APC) and a candidate for the Ukanafun state constituency in the
forthcoming election, was said to be on a house-to-house campaign tour
of the area where he was attacked.

Premiumtimes: Court orders NCC to pay N500m damages to APC

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the
Nigerian Communications Commission to pay the All
Progressives Congress N500 million as damages for
unlawfully banning the party’s presidential campaign fund-
raising platform.
Justice Ibrahim Buba gave the order in his judgment
following a suit filed by the APC against the NCC and Etisalat,
MTN Nigeria, Globacom, Airtel Nigeria and Visafone
Communications.
The judge, in his judgment, held that the APC was protected
by the constitution to pursue the enforcement of its
fundamental rights once they were violated.
Mr. Buba, thereafter, dismissed NCC’s counter affidavit and
ruled that the actions of the respondents were illegal and
unconstitutional.
The judge held that the damages were to be paid jointly and
severally by all the respondents.
The political party had sued the commission, demanding
N25bn as damages, for allegedly banning its presidential
campaign fund-raising platform.
The APC had accused the NCC of instructing the 2nd to 6th
respondents to discontinue an SMS platform it created for
the purpose of getting donations from willing members of
the public for its presidential campaign.
The party claimed to have initiated the participatory fund-
raising platform as a way of getting every member of the
general public to contribute N100 to its presidential
campaign fund each time they sent APC as an SMS to 35350.
The APC had deposed to an affidavit stating that within few
hours of launching the strategy, the party was getting about
four to five text messages in a minute and had received a
total of 5,400 SMS before the NCC directed the
telecommunications service providers to discontinue the
scheme.
The party, however, claimed that NCC, in a letter dated
January 19, instructed the other respondents to shut down
the platform, warning them “to avoid running political
advertisement/promotions that will portray them as being
partisan”.
The APC said the commission also threatened to sanction
any of the telecommunication service providers which failed
to comply with its order.
The party, however, considered the NCC’s instruction and
the consequent shutting down of its fund-raising platform as
both discriminatory and an infringement on its fundamental
rights as protected by Section 39 of the Constitution and
Articles 9 (1) (2) and 19 of the African Charter on Human and
People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap A9,
Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
It argued that NCC did not give the same instruction to the
other respondents when the Peoples Democratic Party set
up such short code which was managed by one Wagitel
Communications Ltd., to raise funds for the campaign of the
party in 2010.

Ribadu’s governorship bid boosted as 10 Adamawa APC exco members defect to PDP Periumtimes

Ten executive committee members of the opposition All
Progressives Congress in Adamawa State have defected to
the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
The group said they defected in order to render support to
the PDP governorship candidate, Nuhu Ribadu.
The defection was announced Tuesday at the Adamawa PDP
Secretariat by Padio Phineas, the publicity secretary of the
APC.
Among the defectors are Publicity Secretary, Mr. Padio; State
Youth Leader, Usman Mohammed Danyaro; Assistant
Secretary, Maiyani Yunis; State woman leader, Hauwa
Agwu; Financial Secretary, Papka Medugu; Auditor, Musa
Hero; Zonal women leader (South), Mercy Abraham; and

In his speech at the defection ceremony, Mr. Padio, who
spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said, “Upon careful review
of all the issues and problems, as well as personalities on
offer aiming for the top job, we come to the selfless
conclusion that no better person is right to take Adamawa
back on track than the candidate of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP).
“Unfortunately, for months and weeks, we have been
saddled with the responsibility of marketing candidates that
we frankly cannot vouch for their capacity and competence
especially in comparable with the candidates PDP parades in
the State.
“Honestly speaking, many of us here today had wanted to
have Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the candidate of our party, the
APC, for the Adamawa governorship while he was still with
us. But by act of providence he left the party before could
achieve our good intention. However, to quote Shakespeare,
“a rose by whatever name it is called will remain sweet”.
“We believe wherever he goes Nuhu Ribadu would remain
Nuhu Ribadu.
“In conclusion, I want to inform you and through you the
good people of Adamawa State that we that are here today,
and our teeming supporters across the state, have decided
to resign our membership of the APC and join the PDP with
the intention of joining the team that has the capacity and
intention of transforming our state.
“We believe the real change Adamawa needs today – the
change from incompetence and cronyism to competent and
selfless leadership is well represented by the PDP. Our
decision is in the interest of Adamawa State. It is borne out
of the patriotic flair to uplift our dear state and transform
the lives of our people.”
Eight candidates are jostling for the Adamawa top job. They
are Mohammed Bindow of the All Progressives Congress
[APC], Nuhu Ribadu of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP],
Ahmad Modibbo of the Peoples Democratic Movement
[PDM], and Marcus Gundiri of the Social Democratic Party
[SDP].
The others are Amos Sunday of the Peoples Party of Nigeria
[PPN], Na’ama Bulama of the Progressives Peoples Alliance
[PPA], Abdulnasir Hamman of the Mega Progressives
Peoples Party [MPPP], and Muhammad Malgwi of the
National Conscience Party [NCP].
Mr. Ribadu is however considered the leading contender for
the position although Messrs Bindow of APC, Modibbo of
PDM and Gundiri of SDP are expected to give him a run for
his money.

Desperation and imposition are the twin visible features in Adamawa politics

Desperation and imposition are the twin visible features in Adamawa politics. Adamawa state has a disturbing history of a democracy driven by desperation and imposition. Such disturbing dimension is precipitated by the fact those who would have wanted to sustain Fulani hegemony in the state lack the political clout and capacity to win an election that is credible and acceptable.
Prior to the Abuja kangaroo primaries, a gubernatorial contender of Fulani extraction was reported to have resisted the idea of participating in party primaries. All he wanted was a democracy that accommodates imposition of candidates on the people against all decency.
As the march, 28 and April11, 2015 election inches closer, revelations of alleged acts of desperation and imposition are emerging.
Only recently, a petition written by one pastor prince Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa dated January 30, 2015 and addressed to the chairman of the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahirun Jega raised some moral questions on the procedure of the governorship primary elections of Adamawa state. The petitioner alleged that the Adamawa state INEC commissioner, Alhaji Baba Abba Yusuf, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the principal private secretary to Mr. President, Ambassador Hassan Tukur, the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu and many others held a clandestine meeting at the inland city motel located at No. 9, Girei street Yola on January, 8 2015 to strategize for Nuhu Ribadu’s electoral victory.
They were alleged to have told the meeting that the sum of N 15 billion has been set aside for the project and directed that Nuhu Ribadu must be announced the winner of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
The petition read in part: “Your INEC commissioner in Adamawa state may not have told you; though some of us are now thinking that you may be aware, that the INEC commissioner, Alhaji Abba Baba Yusuf, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Principal secretary to the president, Ambassador Hassan Tukur, the National chairman of PDP, Ahmadu Adamu Muazu and many others held a meeting at the inland city motel, No. 9, Girei street, Jimeta-Yola on the 18th of January 2015, where they strategized that Nuhu Ribadu must be announced as the winner of the Upcoming governorship election in Adamawa state. They said that since Goodluck Jonathan has accepted the faulty primary election and also said that he will assist them, then Ribadu must win by all means.
“Are elections won by all means? They said to the meeting that they have stashed away N15.0 Billion for the project. That amount is for INEC commissioner and the returning officers who will be doing their bid.
Pastor Kallamu Dikwa in the petition prayed Attahiru Jega to prevail over acts of injustices in the state gubernatorial primaries and to investigate the authencity of his claim in the petition against the INEC chairman and others.
The Pastor also sought for the redeployment of the INEC commissioner of Adamawa state on verification of his claim and requested the INEC National Boss to resist any involvement of the PDP National chairman in election procedures.
Responding to the petition, the former EFCC Boss, Malam Nuhu Ribadu told our correspondent that the allegations are baseless emphasizing that the action was a deliberate intention to smear his reputation.
According to him, the Inland City Motel venue of the alleged clandestine meeting as claimed by the petitioners is a motel he has never visited in his life time.
“I have never been to that motel. Tell them to be careful with me. Have they forgotten that I was once the EFCC Boss in this country? I have served in the Police force for twenty-five years…As an EFCC Boss, I have locked up Governors and Ministers in this country. Is it because I am seeking election into the office of the Governor everybody wants to mess up with me? Let them wait a little; they will know who I am, the gubernatorial candidate threatened.”
Also responding, the Adamawa State INEC Resident Commissioner, Alhaji Babba Abba Yusuf dismissed the petition saying that it has no substance in its entirety.
He said that it was the first time such a petition was brought to his attention and wondered why such an election of such magnitude had not been brought to his attention.
He continued: “I never met Ribadu or the National Chairman face to face, so how could we have met at a meeting as the petitioner is claiming. The best thing you can do to me now is to allow me have a photocopy of the petition. Such mischief makers who have thrived on falsehood need to be taught some lessons.”

HOW CIRCUMSTANCES TRANSFORMS NYAKO INTO A DREAMER

EMME EMMA GWANAH
Few weeks after the incumbent Governor of the state, Barrister Bala James Nggilari was pronounced the governor of the state after the federal high court invalidated his resignation and ordered for swearing-in, there were strong rumours making rounds that Nyako will soon bounce back to his seat through the same judicial process following the suit he filed against the state house of assembly challenging his impeachment. However, the chief judge of the federal high court, Justice Ibrahim Auta discarded the suit filed by the Nyako claiming that the suit lacks locus standi to be tolerated by the competent court of law.
Not less than two weeks after the economic and financial crime commission (EFCC) declared the formergovernor of the state, Murtala Nyako and his biological son Abdulaziz Nyako wanted, the former Governor of the state, Murtala Nyako on Monday 3March, 2015 sought the permission of the federal high court in Lagos to apply for an order of mandamus against the chief judge of the federal high court, Justice Ibrahim Auta for discarding his case file with suit number FHC/YL/CS/11/E014.
The main grievance of the impeached governor, Murtala Nyako is that the chief judge of the high court has hijacked the case file for political reasons. He prayed the court to compelled the, Justice Ibrahim Autato release the case file with the suit number FHC/YL/CS/11/E014.
The governor in his first suit thrown out by the federal high court alleged that his impeachment by the state house of assembly has breached his fundamental right to fair hearing by the seven man investigation panel set up to investigate his allegations and later indicted him of 16 counts of gross official misconduct.
The impeached governor claimed that the seven panel investigative committee has not invited him to defend the allegations leveled against him by the state house of assembly which according to him is contrary to the constitution of the country
Others joined in the first suit include,BubaKaigama, the Adamawa state house of assembly and the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
In the fresh application, the impeached governor, MurtalaNyako’s major prayer is that the court should grant him permission to apply for an order of mandamus against the chief judge of the federal high court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, saying though Justice Bilkisu had fixed judgment in the matter for February 12, 2015 she could not deliver the judgment as scheduled because the chief judge of the federal high court had “seized” the case file.
The impeached governor through his advocate lamented that the seizure of the case file by the high court, chief judge is politically motivated  as it was intended towards delaying the judgment till after May 29 when his tenure would have elapsed, thus rendering the case useless.
The move by the impeached Governor to bounce back to his former seat through court process can be best describe as what Hausa people called “koraKunya da hauka” because many believed that the intensity of the sins of Nyako could have robbed him of his sanity, hence his confused dream to get back to power.
The run-away Nyako claimed that the seven panel investigative committee set up to investigate the allegations leveled against him by the house of assembly denied him fair hearing, the runaway Nyako need to be reminded how he disappeared from the shores of the state on 17 June, 2014 despite the banned on Yola flight to track him down. He was reported to have escaped by road to evade service of impeachment notice and the panel.
How would Nyako, a political criminal be aspiring to come back to power after all the findings of the Justice Bobbo Commission of inquiry and the charges of treasonable felony against him? I still don’t believe that Nyako can be serious about his desire to reclaim his lost throe. If Nyako and his cronies have the effrontery to demand for justice in the wake of their atrocities, then something is fundamentally wrong.
Everyone has the right to dream dreams. After all, that is what old men are known for; to dream dreams. He can dream as many dreams as possible. Joseph dreamt dreams, could Nyko also be the Joseph of our time.

Boko Haram Insurgents Slaughter Wives As They Prepare For Gwoza Showdown

Saharareporters:A source in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, has told
SaharaReporters that many embattled Boko Haram
insurgents in the town of Bama slaughtered their wives as
Nigerian soldiers continued to rout the Islamist fighters in
Nigeria’s northeast. Some of them later moved to Gwoza
where they vowed to defend their so-called capital with the
last drop of their blood.“They killed their wives so that the women would not get
remarried to unbelievers if their husbands die in the fierce
battles with Nigerian soldiers,” said the female source, who
just arrived in Maiduguri from Bama, a major battlefront in
the continuing military operations to dislodge the Islamist
insurgents from Yobe, Adamawa and Borno.
According to the source, the Islamist fighters told their ill-
fated wives, “We will not spare anyone of you because if
unbelievers marry you, when we get to heaven, there is no
way we can meet again. So we are doing this so that we can
meet in heaven.”
She said many of the women pleaded for their lives, but
their Islamist husbands slaughtered them all the same.
The source said the residents of Bama were terrified as the
battle raged, adding that many people lost their lives. “My
husband and children hid in one house until the battle was
over. Then yesterday we were bought to Maiduguri by the
military who saved us from Boko Haram,” the woman said.
A top military source confirmed that many civilians were
rescued from Bama. “We received intelligence reports that
many civilians were in the town. That’s why we used careful
strategies to rescue them. Hundreds of them were brought
to Maiduguri yesterday by our troops,” said the source.
Boko Haram insurgents had captured Bama last September,
but the town was rescued by Nigerian troops last week.
The soldiers brought more than two hundred civilians,
including children and women, in ten vehicles to Maiduguri.

I Told You Jonathan Was A Terrorist; Now You See He Is A Terror Grandmaster By Peregrino Brimah

Abusidiqu : All Nigeria’s terrorists are now formally under Jonathan’s
employ. When the president of Nigeria brags about creating
employment, it should be taken in context.
MASSOB armed and violent terrorists of the southeast have
been hired by the president and his ruling PDP party to
foment chaos and destruction of life and property to protect
a Jonathan friendly administration.
OPC armed terrorists are doing same, paid by Jonathan, in
the Southwest. We have images of them vandalizing public
property and opposition billboards with the Nigerian police
and army, now a terror appendage of Jonathan’s in full
supervision.
The Vice president’s Boko Haram terrorists who are doing
the same in the north were seen days ago holding him,
Namadi Sambo hostage for nonpayment of their salaries for
terrorism work done.
And we do not need talk about MEND and the Dokubo,
Dickson, Boyloaf, Tompolo, Kuku dem assemblies where
they rise up and threaten Nigeria openly, while warning
voters to vote for the opposition ‘at their own peril.’
Among other things, the plan includes using armed terrorists
and the state security to intimidate good and progress ready
people away from polling booths next week.
Nigeria will never fully recover from this reign or terror.
Good people have sat down quietly too long and now bad
people and terrorists have been employed and empowered
beyond imagination.
Do you still have doubts having seen how Jonathan sponsors
all these terrorists to further his political ambition, that he
did same and is the chief sponsor of Boko Haram? Little
wonder he protected them as his ‘siblings’, and his beat
buddy, PDP chair Bamanga Tukur said they were fighting for
justice.
Nigeria is in soup. Rest in peace General Andrew Azazi. Reat
in peace too UN, AU, ICC and co. You watched us die under a
regime of Terror while pretending not to notice.

A P C presidential Campaing Organisation To Sent A Petition Against Goodluck Jonathan To ICC

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign organisation annaunced today it will sent a petition against Goodluck Jonathan to the international criminal court  (ICC) at clossal. In a statement signed by mallam Garba Shehu the group's media and publicity director, that the pitition follows the anti jega protest held by Armed proJonathan campaing under Oodua people's congress (OPC) in lagos demanding the sack of INEC chairman poffessor Attahiru Jega, Sahara reporters said Malam Garba noted that the machete-wielding and gun-
bearing armed pro-Jonathan groups marched round the
major streets of Lagos, harassing and intimidating motorists,
chanting anti-Jega songs in a manner that gave them away
as acting the carefully-prepared script for the truncation of
the general elections. They added that He observed that there was such
disruption to the tranquility of the city that the citizens
scampered for safety in all directions, describing it as a
foretaste of the violence they plan to unleash on Election
Day.
"Our investigations have confirmed that Monday's (16th
March, 2015) show was a dress-rehearsal for the main
disruption planned for the general elections. Lagos, and the
entire South West, being a stronghold of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), has been marked for massive disheveling
commotion that would involve killings, maiming and
kidnapping,” the spokesman said.
"Our findings have further shown that the recent Nine Billion
naira (N9 Billion) Pipeline surveillance contract to OPC and
some militant groups in Southern Nigeria was the elixir for
the latest crude impudence of the pro-Jonathan armed
groups. Indeed, the contract award was indeed a subterfuge
for the mobilization of these murderous militant groups for
the destruction of lives and property to force the desire of
the re-election of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan on the Nigerian
people.
"As an opposition APC, we are using this medium to serve
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan the notice of our formal protest of
this extreme show of impunity to the International Criminal
Court (ICC). We are aware that Mrs Patience Jonathan is
already on the watch list of ICC. The activities of this
President and his wife as regards the elections are not
patriotic and very unhelpful for entrenching democratic
values in the nation.”
He recalled the bombing of the APC secretariat and the
shootings and disruption of the party's campaign rally in
Okirika in Rivers State, where the First Lady hails from,
noting that those events met with muted silence from
President Jonathan.
"Whereas the Police authorities had denied the opposition
party its legitimate and democratic rights to organise one
million person march for General Buhari in Kano it was,
however, quick to approve that in Lagos, providing security
to the pro-Jonathan armed groups while they unleashed
mayhem on citizens in Lagos on Monday, a day that
inhabitants of the city consider the most important of the
week.
He stressed that the APC was not ready to cower to the
intimidation of Jonathan ahead of the general elections.
“We believe Nigerians shall speak eloquently on 28th March,
2015 and this brutality on the psyche of the Nigerian people
shall cease."

yet to be arrested. Alicia's mother Janet Fearon told The Sunday Gleaner her daughter was
sexually assaulted by her cousin and another man in their
rural Clarendon community last year, but she was unaware
of this until she took the child to the doctor for a check-up.
The doctor contacted the police after confirming the
pregnancy and questioning the little girl."She said she is afraid to talk to me. I don't know why she is
afraid to talk to me as a mother. I don't know if it's because I
am strict. If she come home and say anything to me, I would
rough her," admitted Fearon.
"The other day she come from school and I see that she was
crying and I said 'Alicia, what's the matter' and she said
'mommy, I am okay', that's it, she said nothing more to me,"BABY HAVING A BABY: Alicia is too young to deliver the

But Alicia told the paper that she could not tell her mother
because she was threatened.
She said the incident took place as she was coming home
from extra lessons one day.
According to Alicia, it was not uncommon for her to visit her
cousin's house, since his 12-year-old daughter is her best
friend.
That day, however, two adult men took her into a bedroom
and told her that they wanted to have sex with her.
"They said if I go home go tell my mother, they gonna kill
me," the little girl recounted.

Board diverts N2billion scholarship funds?

The basis for the establishment of the Adamawa State Scholarship Board cannot be over emphasized. Until two year ago the Board had been responsible for the welfare of the students of higher institutions and stimulation of educational growth of the state. Recent experiences at the Board had not only made nonsense the essence of the Board, but an instrument of retrogression and diversion of public funds meant for the development of the state. The last time the Board had fully performs its statutory obligation was 2011 when the scholarship of the students were paid to them. Students have complained of lack of payment of their scholarships since they were admitted in higher institutions up to this moment when some of them are almost graduating, while some of them from polytechnics and monotechnics said that about two sets of their seniors have completed their studies without the privilege of enjoying scholarship from the state government. More disturbing had been that the scholarship funds have not failed to reflect on the state annual budgets. What then could have been happening to the funds?
From the findings and report of Justice Bobbo report, the board had diverted a staggering amount of 2billion scholarship fund to private pocket at the expense of the state. The pioneer also gathered
that the funds released by Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri as scholarship funds during his short tenure found itself into private pockets when it became apparent that Fintiri’s government was truncated for good.
Our reporter who was at the board on several occasions to get the version of the chief Executive Director of the Board had to contend with flimsy excuses. The correspondent at one of the visits had to leave a questionnaire as requested by the staff and was later told that the Chief Executive Director had flew out of the country on an official trip.
Some of the students who are beneficiaries of the states scholarship told our correspondent at the Scholarship Board, venue of the recent National Union of Adamawa State Students that the government had been adamant to the welfare needs of students, saying that the use of students’ welfare as a pretext to divert government funds is primitive and unacceptable. They expressed disappointment with government’s inability to disburse scholarship to qualified students even when provisions have been made for this purpose.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday Begs for Vote

http://sahrareporters.comBy Sahara  reporters: President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday met religious and
traditional leaders, and key members of the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa State, asking for
support ahead of presidential elections in two weeks.
On his second visit to the state in about two weeks, the
president arrived Yola, the state capital, at about 12p.m
before meeting with the Lamido of Adamawa.
President Jonathan Returns To Adamawa To
Beg
A source at the palace said “the president had a closed-door
meeting with some traditional rulers in the Lamido’s palace
for about hour before leaving for Adamawa State
government house”.
At the government house, the president met with political
and religious leaders in the state.
Mr. Jonathan later met with members of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, including Governor Bala Ngilari, his
deputy.
Also present at that meeting were the state PDP chairman,
Joel Madaki, the PDP governorship candidate, Nuhu Ribadu,
past and present National Assembly members.
Mr. Jonathan’s first visit in a long while to Adamawa State
was on February 26, when he travelled to Mubi, a town
reclaimed recently from the insurgent group, Boko Haram.
Ahead of the trip, Mr. Jonathan had been criticised for not
visiting Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States, the three states
most ravaged for years by Boko Haram.
Unlike his first visit when he met with troops fighting Boko
Haram, and victims displaced from their communities, the
president used Saturday’s visit to canvass support for the
March 28 election.
At a meeting with the PDP leadership in the state, Mr.
Jonathan addressed some thorny issues that emanated after
the party’s primaries in the state, which produced Nuhu
Ribadu as the governorship candidate.
Mr. Jonathan, who chaired the meeting at the government
house Yola, appealed to all aggrieved party members to
work for the success of the party.
Governor Ngilari, who spoke before the meeting went into a
closed-door session, assured Mr. Jonathan of victory in the
state, as according to him, the Adamawa chapter of the PDP
has been one indivisible party.
Mr. Ngilari said the members had to meet with the president
to brainstorm on the present situation the party has found
itself.
“We must deliver PDP on 28th of this month, no two ways
about it,” the governor said. “We all agreed that we must
deliver. This is a safe place for you all the PDP candidates, as
a party faithful we must deliver you and other members.”
Mr. Ngilari said the emergence of Nuhu Ribadu as the
party’s candidate was a blessing.
“We need a governor who has an international connection
and to use the connection to build our state by bringing
dividend of democracy,” he said.
The state chairman of the party, Mr. Madaki, while giving a
report of the effort done at reconciling aggrieved members,
said that members have agreed to put behind all their
grievances and work together for the victory of PDP.
“In every organisation there must be disagreement which
does not translate to hatred. There is inter house struggle in
the Adamawa State chapter of the PDP. Before the PDP
primary there were only two major parties in the state,
which were PDP and APC. But after the PDP primaries we
have four party now and many of our people have left to
other platforms, nobody from APC moved to our fold,” he
said.
Mr. Madaki noted that the earlier intervention of President
Jonathan and other party leaders saved the situation.
‘’The intervention of the party leaders have made things to
happen in Adamawa PDP. We have been mobilising people
for your victory Mr. President, we are making progress,” he
assured Mr. Jonathan.
‘’The gubernatorial candidate Nuhu Ribadu is a humble
person. He has visited all aggrieved people individually
seeking their supports.
‘’We’ve gone out to the 226 wards in the state to reconcile
with our people. We want you Mr. President to assist all the
candidates of the party.”

How Fulani cabal knocked heads of Nggilari, Gulak over senatorial seat

How Fulani cabal knocked heads of Nggilari, Gulak over senatorial seat
EMME EMMA GWANAH
The Adamawa state PDP has created a damaging reputation for itself; it has created a reputation of political insanity and impunity perpetrated to highest level. One needs not to possess a magic wand or consult an oracle to understand the crippling power play featuring few feudalists and political demons who have reduced the ethnic majority in the state into mere skeletons and clapping boys.
The Adamawa ethnic majority cannot forget too easily how the Fulani cabal systematically terminated the well inspiring and cherished administration of Hon. Ahmadu Finitiri who was seen as a threat to their ambition to produce a candidate of Fulani extraction who could promote Fulani hegemony in the state.
Barely three days to the October 11 aborted by-gubernatorial election, the high court sent quivers and shivers down the spine of the Adamawa population by invalidating the Nggilari’s resignation. The development was said to be product of an agreement reached between the cabal and Nggilari to forfeit his ambition as the Governor and to accept the position of a senator for the northern senatorial zone.
The conclusive and successful coup d’état targeted against Hon Fintiri because of his offensive ambition to be the Governor of the state against the wishes and political calculations of the Fulani cabal was said to have been the major factor that ruffled the feathers of the party.
On the other hand, Nggilari sudden change of ambition to declare for the gubernatorial seat was seen as a breach of that agreement between him and the cabal intended to violate the previous agreement. It was a confusion and controversy that degenerated into a game of wits which precipitated the suspension scandal of some key state party officials and hosting of a kangaroo PDP primaries in Abuja to make a way for the presidency favored candidate. In an attempt to douse the tension, Engineer Markus Gundiri was said to have been promised the offer of an appointment as a federal Minister, an offer he was said to have rejected outrightly.
In the process of reconciliation, Nggilari was forced to accept the earlier agreement to vie for the senatorial seat while Ali Gulak who had earlier emerged the candidate for the northern senatorial seat at the Abuja Kangaroo primaries was forced to sacrifice his mandate for the incumbent Governor. Though the deal appeared conclusive, the cabal who was apparently offended by Nggilari’s unfavorable disposition to the initial agreement had to resort to the application of some payback measures to scuttle his chances of becoming   a senator for the northern District. Many have alleged that the subsequent revolt by Ali Gulak to keep his earlier mandate he secured at the Abuja kangaroo primaries was part of the plot by the Fulani cabal to frustrate the senatorial ambition of Governor Bala James Nggilari. Hon Ali Gulak who is fighting vehemently to claim his mandate has questioned the justification for the confiscation of his mandate when in the real sense of it, he emerged the overall winner at an election contested by seven aspirants. He argued that in that same election, Nggilari never contested for the senatorial seat but governorship seat which he lost out.
The bone of contention is how the name of Nggilari was smuggled into INEC as the senatorial flag bearer of the party when in actual sense he never contested in the Abuja primaries.
Sources have alleged that the whole Nggilari/ Ali Gulak open war was an action masterminded by the Fulani cabal to teach Nggilari how to respect simple agreement.

NOT NOW, DR. ZWINGINA

NOT NOW, DR. ZWINGINA

Time it was when the Lunguda people of especially Adamawa state had cause to show pride in one of their sons, the erudite senator Jonathan Zwingina. They sang it and danced it and the music and the dance steps reverberated beyond the shores of the land. Senator Zwingina’s fame snowballed from the state to the national levels with international trappings. The Lunguda people continued to dance and sing with self-satisfaction and a huge expectation of a bountiful harvest of dividends from an obvious promising son. It never came. The flames burned out leaving behind a tale of woes and despair. It is like a well fed bull released for a fight but suddenly turned round with its menacing horns and strength to devour its master.
The turned around of the bull tendency manifested earlier during the days of the MAMSER campaigns where Senator Zwingina was the state Director. On a visit to his home local government Guyuk, the MAMSER boss picked the gauntlet with the chairman of his council area for failing to receive him at Kilometre 3 as the MAMSER Boss. Although this created ill feelings within the community, it was overlooked and the MAMSER boss was later to be given an overwhelming support to become the senator of the southern Senatorial Zone.
This was in spite of the grudge of the community on what they considered as first sin of their son, that is the unceremonious dissolution of the hitherto Lunguda Development Association (LDA), an association that bound the community together for which the senator was a treasurer. What annoyed the people most was the fact that the community had organized a fund raising from which a substantial amount of Money was realized for itself development? The community was not told the whereabouts of those funds only to be told that LDA was to be substituted with the (LDDA) Lunguda Districts Development Association, an organization unlike the LDA was not purely a Lunguda Association. Proponent of LDDA, senator Zwingina could not sustain the ideals of the union which the community rightly observed smirked off political undertones. The senator wanted to use the new LDDA to cover up the missing funds of the LDA as well appealed to the non-Lungudas for political gains. The people got disenchanted and abandoned the union entirely. Today, the community has no registered platform, thanks to senator Zwingina. But this too, was overlooked on the days of struggle to get the son of the community to the senate.
It was however at the senate that the true colours of their son manifested. It started with the electrification project of the senator who decided to connect his voting village to the national grid. He had three options to get the national grid lines to his village. One, one is to take the line from Guyk via Kurnyi, to Gundenyi and then to Falu his village. The other option was to take the lines from Lokoro to Kawa via Lamza, Walu and Falu. The third option was as the geographers will say “as the crow flies” meaning the lines would go straight from Guyuk to Falu without any village benefiting. To the consternation of the community, the senator took the third option which left out all the neighboring villages. There are allegations that the senator did secure a constituency project to execute a water project amounting to the tune of N200million. Although there is no way the community could verify these allegations as there is no single borehole on ground to attest to it, the allegation itself brought back memories of what the senator did when he was the Commissioner for Water Resources in the Adamawa state. In one of his official tours of local government in the state, the former Military Administrator of the state Group captain Grengory Agboneni visited Guyuk in company of his commissioner of water Resources.
The Administrator observed while inspecting the site of a presidential lodge that Guyuk people lack water and wandered why building a presidential lodge was more desirable. The Administrator therefore scraped the presidential lodge project and directed the Water Resources Commissioner to convert the project to a water one. Senator Zwingina never came back to tell the community what happened to the water project, instead the site of the presidential lodge which was to be used on that water project is now the presidential home of senator Zwingina in Guyuk.
It is not clear if the senator has the original (Co of O) that transferred the plot to him; allegations suggests that he used his position as the senator to cow the local government council into building the place for him.
Needless to say, the water ministry was the senator’s albatross. A senator Wanpana commission which investigated the tenure of the senator as the commissioner of the ministry revealed untamable inconsistencies and the people of the southern senatorial zone would have been saved from the agony of having to send such a son to the senate if a white paper was released in support of the commission’s findings.
Senator Zwingina had his primary school in the present day Guyuk central primary school. During his school days he was often sent out of school for lack of school fees and if his uniforms were worn-out together with many children of the less priviledge families. No denigration is intended here, but to point out that any pupil with such an experience who eventually become a senator will know that many of the children of his home community are still at the level at which he was.
Up to the end of his eight years tenure of the senate, nothing was done to show that the senator cares to look back when friends and relatives contributed to his education.
These and many more things that time and space cannot permit made the people to conclude that their son, the senator, “was more in the mouth” than keeping promises and commitment. It is apparent that senator Zwingina has enjoyed the service cheaply from his community since his elementary school to his senatorial level without commensurate reciprocation. It is also politically immature that after eight years as senator, senator Zwingina does not see the whole of the community as his constituency. He still believes in politics of seclusion where only lackeys who lack the capacity to question what he does are preferred by him.
All of a sudden senator Zwingina left Abuja to Yola to coordinate the campaigns of Right Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The gravevine had it that he took the position to help clear Fintiri before a committee headed by Deputy President of senate, Ibrahim Mantu, a friend to senaroe Zwingina whose responsibilities was to either clear or not to clear Fintiri for the guber race. Others felt that there could be more to do than meet the eye for senator Zwingina who successfully coordinated for a president of the federal Republic of Nigeria Late M.K.O Abiola to all of a sudden descend this low to coordinate for a governor in a state. it has since been found out that Senator Zwingina was not interested in coordinating for Fintiri, but he was coordinating for his senatorial ticket. In any case Fintiri did not need a coordinator in the person of senator Zwingina in order to win an election which he was sure of winning given his acceptance by the people across the state. in fact senator Zwingina was the darkest blemish on the immaculately white political robes of Rt. Honorable Ahmadu Fintiri.
But while Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri has since accepted that it was a stroke of providence that Madagali will provide the leadership of Adamawa state at these trying moments, he is teaming up as it should be with Governor Bala James Nggilari, the stabilizer, to ensure that Madagali delivers. Rt. Hon. Fintiri is what my people figuratively call Jiswanka, a special arrow for a special game in the near feature. Feelers suggest that instead of visiting governor Nggilari to congratulate him for becoming governor, and also making the senator’s childhood friend Ibrahim Welye the SSG, the senator is said to be involved in complicities that saw to the disintegration PDP as a party in the state.
In desperation, senator Zwingina clinched a senatorial ticket from questionable party primaries which has torn the party apart in his home state Adamawa. Today Senator Zwingina is booed by the youths in Guyuk for wasting eight years as a senator and wonder why he thinks he deserves to be given another chance. Just before the Christmas the senator was on his way to his voting village and decided to take his normal route “as the crows flies” suddenly he realized he realized the road was washed away by the rains and a rivulet which will not cost a serious senator half a million to construct a culvert across prevented him from continuing his journey. The locals booed and showed him an alternative road to Falu, his voting village whether senator Zwingina picks the senatorial ticket is immaterial what matter is if those who gave him the ticket will also crown him the senator elected. If democracy is a game of numbers, Zwingina is on his own. Senator Zwingina has squandered the good will of his people on the altar of greed and self-centeredness. Gone are the days the people follow stupidly only to be disappointed. Certainly, not now Zwingina.

Following the Abuja PDP kangaroo primaries that produced the Former EFCC Boss Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the gubernatorial flag bearer of PDP in the state, the development may have not only stirred up internal crises and mass exodus of the party stalwarts to other political parties, but has also created apathy and tarnished the image for the party on the side of its supporters and sympathizers.
Only recently, the purported winner of the PDP gubernatorial aspirant concluded what he termed thank you tour of the local governments in the state. Follow up reports indicated that his tour suffered a serious setbackas many wind screens of some vehicles of supporters on his entourage were smashed, while others were reported to have chanted Boko Haram after his name to humiliate him. The information maintained that in some local governments in the state, even some card-carrying members of the party joined the masses to respond with a slogan “sai Gundiri” any time Ribadu and his team shouted “Adamawa sai waye”
Sources closeto the party secretariat stated that the just concluded thank you tour of the controversial PDP candidate was a tactical maneuver to test his popularity and the confidence people of the state repose in his candidature.
The same sources revealed that after the tour the controversial PDP candidate came face to face with the reality that he lacks the capacity and popularity to win the forthcoming election in the wake of free and fair election when he was reportedly quoted as saying that “even though I seem not to be the popular choice of the people in the state, but I have the chances of becoming the Governor of the state through electoral, security and judicial manipulation. Even if I score one vote during the election, the influence of my godfather whooccupies a high position in the presidency will pave a way for my victory at the polls”
Sources close to the PDP secretariat said that since the humiliation and outright opposition and hostilities the controversial PDP gubernatorial candidate faced inthe wake of his tour, he has engaged in series of meetings with his cabal to chart a new course that will facilitate his emergence as the Governor of the state without regard to the rule of law.
Sourcesalleged that the presidency is coming face to face with the reality of the weakness of PDP gubernatorial candidates of ten states in the country, whose possibility of winning election in their state is virtually impossible; it was reported that the presidency had arrogantly released ten billion to each aspirant, with Adamawa state inclusive.
Sources close to PDP secretariat alleged that the party has been doing underground work to win the forth coming election at all costs even if it means snatching ballot boxes. The sources who pleaded anonymity reliably disclosed to newsmen that there is a plan by the PDP to engage thugs in snatching ballot boxes with compensation of N2 million per box, apart from the use of compromising electoral  and security officials.
Sources told newsmen that the party is planning to roll to the streets of the state stomach infrastructuresbefore the countdown to forthcoming election just as the party exhibited in Ekiti state recently as a maneuver to attract sympathy and support of the hostile electorates in Adamawa state.
A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that a friend(name withheld) told him that he was called by a familiar friend who is a die-hard of the former EFCC Boss, Mallam Ribadu and asked if he is interested to serve as an Adhoc Staff of the INEC to conduct the February elections.
He said that he was told that he would be recruited as an Adhoc Staff only on the condition of giving his consent to work for Ribadu as an Adhoc staff.
From this revelation, it is becoming almost clear that a group working for the “victory at the February polls may be walking under cover to recruit workers who are favorably disposed to the PDP’s candidate to facilitate rigging or electoral manipulation.
A source within the People’s Democratic Party told newsmen that before now, the proponents of Ribadu’s candidature or the existing cabal in the state have been working to ensure that no party fields Engineer Markus Gundiri as a gubernatorial candidate for fear of his amazing popularity and acceptability in the state. The apparent failure of this plot was said to have forced the cabal to explore the possibility of using some prominent Christian Politicians (names withheld) from Demsa, Guyuk, Mubi North and Madagali local governments to infiltrate the ranks of Church leaders and Pastors by offering them mouth-watering financial incentives to influence the voting pattern of Christians in the state.
Another heart-piercing plot is the alleged use of INEC officials to manipulate results of the election in favour of PDP in the state.
The same source alleged that a top ranking National officer of the INEC had asked a gubernatorial candidate of PDP in the state to name any Resident Commissioner of INEC of his choice for posting to the state to work out an apparatus for his victory at the February polls.
This plan was said to have been concluded before the recent reshufflement of some INEC Resident Commissioners across the country ahead of the February 2015 general elections.
Speaking to the newsmen, the publicity secretary of All Progressive Congress Adamawa state chapter, Rev. Padio Phineas, said that their party is aware of all the plans and maneuvers of PDP to rig the forthcoming election, adding that their party is putting measures in place to checkmate the PDP and its plans to rig the forthcoming election, elaborating that their party is ready to match PDP fire for fire until justice is done to the electoral process in the form of free, fair and credible election.
“Kangaroo eras of rigging election easily have gone, we are ready to cast and defend our votes until justice prevails. All the plans put in place by PDP to rig the forth coming election will be nothing but a far-fetched dream because their plans are finally exposed and our party is ready to match them fire by fire” Padio said.
Also speaking, the organizing secretary of the Social Democratic Party in the state, Engr. CharlseTumolva said that his party is aware of such plans to rig out the most popular candidate contesting under the platform of the SDP saying that 2015 will certainly not be a business as usual.

Fintiri in fresh trouble over alleged missing N3.9 billion

The former acting governor of Adamawa State Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri
is said to be swimming in troubled waters following the recent
revelation that over N3.9billion was missing from the state coffers under his acting tenure as the acting governor of the state.
There are strong indications that Fintiri may be investigated over alleged dirty deals by the present administration to expose certain realities associated with his first brief tenure he served as the Deputy Governor when the court earlier ordered the conduct of elections in five states of the federation including Adamawa.
The same Justice Bobbo Commission of inquiry constituted by the state Assembly speaker, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri was said to have indicted the speaker alongside other PDP bigwigs in the state for alleged financial misappropriations.
Subtle observers were said to have criticized the committee report based on blunders identified in the report and the revelation of the chairman of the committee presented during the presentation of the committee report to Governor Bala James.
The committee had admitted that it could only carry out 40% of the assignment given to them, a declaration that gave rise to suspention and condemnation.
Insetigations revealved that the former secretary of the company had resigned from serving the community based on issue of personal intergrity and morality. He was said to have frowned at the failure of some government’s officials to honour the imitation of the committee to appear before it for a questioning.
The secretary of the committee Mr. Cornelius Nyari was said to have been disturbed by the operation of the committee and its unexplained silence over Fintiri and bello Tukur’s deliberate refusal to appear for questioning. Bello Tukur who was chief of staff of the impeached governor was been fingered in most alleged deals of Nyako’s government.
Many have question the credibility of the Justice Bobbo commission report due to the absence of the identity and signatories of both the old and the new secretary as well as the deliberate replacement of the secretary as well as the deliberate replacement of the secretary.
Governor Bala James Nggilari who was apparently worried by the glaring abnormalities and acts that implies selective justice had distanced himself from the report saying that he does not believe in witch-hunting.
He was reported to have said that the assignment may be compelled to set up another committee to study the half-baked report before further action since the report lacks appropriate ingredients that will stimulate government action.

A social crusader in Adamawa State Malam Ibrahim Medugu has
challenged the Speaker of the State, House of Assembly Hon Ahmadu Umaru
Fintiri to come out clean and prove that he did not embezzled the
state resources valued at N3, 908,255,626 during his tenure as the
acting governor of the state.

Fintiri had submitted a report that during his stay
in office as the Acting Governor of the state that he earned a total of
Twenty One Billion, Four hundred and Six million, three hundred and
forty thousand, Seven hundred and sixty Seven (N21,406,340,767) as
income  and expended the sum of(20,698,085,140) leaving the of
(N708,255,623) as surplus in the state coffer for the incoming
Governor.

Medugu observed that Fintiri left a deficit of over (N3.2billion) and
not a surplus as he claimed based on the records available, stressing that figure involved is too great for one to have probably suggested to be a mistake.
Medugu alleged that the state resources were diverted through a
construction company named Mayim construction and property LTM which
had link with the acting governor  in purchasing a tea plantation on
Mambilla belonging to S.M. Nguroja Nig .Ltd at a cost of N650million
through Eco bank.

According to him the construction company with registration number RC 695885 is being investigated by
695885 by EFCC on allegations of money laundry.

He specifically cited the purported purchase of prado jeeps valued at N247, 556,478 for the local Government
Chairmen in the state by Hon. Fintiri as one of the many deals and crimes of Finitiri adding that Nyako had already paid for the vehicles.
He also wondered how N75, 767,216 could have been paid for the
electrification of Kirchurga which at that time was firmly under the
grip of insurgents and could not have benefited from the project.

Another grey area identified by Medugu was the renovation of houses
which gulped N279,413,091 wondering which houses were renovated when
all the staff quarters in the state had been sold off.

He also noted that the purported N279million used for
renovation could have built an estate of almost 60 flats at the
ongoing rate of about N5million per flat.

However immediately Fintiri was sacked by Abuja High Court from office
he denied of any mismanagement of the state resources, giving account
of his stewardship, that over N20 billion was spent on projects

Fintiri at a Press Conference held at the House
of Assembly complex shortly after his removal by an Abuja high court explained that he expended over N20 billion on
salaries and projects during his 86 days tenure as Acting Governor.

According to him his three months old administration received a total
income of N21. 4 billion and expended N20. 6 billion and left behind
N708. 2 million.

" Accountability is is one of the most essential virtue of leadership
in and out of office. I therefore, find it necessary to give an
account of my stewardship as the Acting Governor to the people of
Adamawa.

"It is pertinent to state here that the financial position of Adamawa
at the time we came to power was catastrophic.

" The state was heading to total collapse due to high level of
indebtedness. The state owed liquid cash of over N12.8 billion to just
one bank, and for over three years, the state government had been
paying salaries through over draft.

" The state was paying about N100 million monthly as interest on
overdraft, term loan repayment of about N1 billion monthly, and
overdraft repayment of N3.5billion monthly", Fintiri said.

He said his brief administration was able save the state from drowning
in debt by involving the service of professionals who brought about
financial stability.

“Consequently, monthly interest on overdraft drooped to zero naira,
the repayment of term loan also dropped from about N1billion monthly
to N311 million monthly and the repayment of overdraft dropped from
about N3.5 billion monthly to zero naira monthly.

" In addition, my administration saved the interest in debt of N12.8
billion from the usual 22 per cent to 16 per cent,  resulting in
saving about N2 billion, besides the over N400 million that was made
from the moratorium period agreed", Fintiri said.

According to Fintiri, the stability being enjoyed by the state as at
now was as a result of his administration is accountability and
transparency in governance which he said made it possible to pay
salaries and salary arrears as well as embark on projects.

However, commenting on the controversial Fintiri tenure as the
acting governor of the state, a  APC chieftain in the state, Alh Uba
Dan Arewa said that governor Bala James Nggilari needs to set a panel
to probe Fintiri administration.
He said that since Assembly speakers are not provided by law, the Nggilari administration should be protected by law, the Nggilari administration should investigate and apprehend the speaker if found guilty.
He further accused Fintiri of giving out to only PDP legislators with the exclusion of other law makers from other parties.
