ORGANIZATION TONQUE LASHES MISCHIEVIOUS POLITICIANS

The Ganye youth Patriotic front a non-governmental organization in the state working for the promotion of good governance has reacted to reports being circulated by a failed politician in Adamawa state that Reverend (Hon.) Habila Istifanus the deputy Governor to the gubernatorial candidate of the people’s democratic party (PDP) and former EFCC Boss Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is an indigene of Plateau state and not a politician of Chamba extraction in Adamawa state.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the organization, Mr. Dakitemi Laban Gindau, the organization condemned the malicious report saying that it was deliberately intended to cast aspersions on the personality of the Reverend gentleman whose history and contributions to the development of chamba land is not in dispute:
The statement indicated that the organization is tempted to react to the report being peddled by some mischievous politician from Ganye because by their disposition and antecedents, they have no moral justification to speak on the personality of a highly respected clergy and politician like Rev. Habila because of their blind ambition to achieve certain political interests.
It also questioned the indices used by the politicians to trace the indigene ship status of the Reverend to Plateau state, a land where the Reverend only stepped on in 1984 to acquire his first degree in theology.
The chairman argued that if the same indices were to be applied on some these politicians, their state of origin would have been traced to other state where they have worked for over a decade and have received traditional titles from other places other than Adamawa state.
The organization explained that its response to such baseless allegations was not because it could have any damaging impact on the personality of the Reverend gentleman, but to put the records straight and to expose their selfish and evil intentions behind the inventions of such lies.
The statement described their action as not only primitive but an outburst that flows from the mixture of anger, envy and political hatred owing to the growing popularity and acceptability of their victim within the chamba enclave and the state at large.
To keep the records straight, the statement called the attention of the mischievous politician to the fact that Reverend Habila was born in Gangkero village in Yebbi ward of Ganye Local Government on February 15, 1960 and had his primary education in Gangjonen Village from the same ward. His first primary’s school classroom teacher who is still living was Mr. Markus Topkenenka.
The statement further challenged the female politician to embark on an investigative voyage to discover the identity of the biological Father of Reverend Habila, late Istifanus Seupasi who hails from a Village called Sangotim Danubi and lived his life at Gangkero and Yebbi.
The chairman also intimated that the humble politician (Rev.Habila) who had been living among his people and improving their living conditions had the privilege of coming from the clan (Damen) called Danub (Paternal) and Teumsikun (Maternal) emphasizing on that the Reverend has a rich cultural history as a Chamba man more than the mischievous politicians who hides under the canopy of politics to cause mischief.
It is very disappointing and sad that instead of appreciating and applauding enormous contributions the Rev. has brought to his community, such failed politicians have belatedly wasted their time in baseless attacks which is nothing but show of shame.
